About Us
The origin of No Requests begins with my career in music. As a DJ, I’ve always put hours and hours of preparation into each set. I love researching each venue and creating playlists that are perfectly tailored to flow and set the mood for the party. This time and effort put in is what makes DJing an art form. Oftentimes though, people overlook this fact and flood my ears with their personal opinions of what I should be playing. These requests were always frustrating to hear after I had put so much time and effort into preparing the music. I decided that the best solution for this problem would be to playfully bring a sign to each of my DJ sets labeled with the phrase “No Requests”. Then later I decided to take this same concept a step further and design merchandise, with “No Requests” labeled on each piece, to really drive the point home!
I sat on this idea for a while and realized that this simple expression “No Requests” actually carry’s over into several aspects of life that go beyond DJing. We all have moments in our busy lives where we just want to simply unplug, relax, and take “No Requests”. These moments are the best opportunities for us as humans to let our minds flow, reflect, and reset. This concept also applies to another personal interest of mine, surfing. Surfing provides you with a great opportunity to disconnect from life’s daily stresses and reconnect with the earth’s natural power and beauty.
No Requests is a brand where all of these ideas from surfing, music, to simply striving live your life to the fullest all intersect! Everything within the brand is designed with the highest quality so that you feel the ultimate level of comfort while embracing this mindset. That way, while wearing the clothes you can go out to enjoy music in them, surf in them, and best of all LIVE in them!!
I also have added organic ethically sourced coffee to No Request's list of products. Many brands source and package their coffee without keeping their impact on the Earth in mind! So my goal at No Requests is to be conscious of this impact, and pay my respects to the environment and the people who farm our coffee beans! I accomplish this by only sourcing our beans from farms that pay their workers fair wages and have them working under ethical conditions. Additionally, I made sure that every part of our coffee's packaging is made from recycled material that can also be recycled again after you finish with it. Ultimately, my goal is to have our coffee fuel your daily effort to live your best life!
